Clock Direction Vastu Calculator
Time is Wealth. Ensure your Wall Clocks are attracting prosperity and good health by placing them in the correct Vastu Zones.
Why Clock Direction Matters in Vastu
In Vastu Shastra, a wall clock is not just a device to tell time; it represents the Flow of Time in your life. Time can either be favorable (Good Times) or stagnant (Bad Times). Placing a clock in the right direction ensures that the energy of time moves forward, bringing wealth, opportunities, and good health.
Best Directions for Wall Clocks
- North (Kuber’s Direction): Ideally, the best direction. It attracts wealth and career opportunities. Clocks here should ideally be blue, grey, or metallic.
- East (Indra’s Direction): Excellent for health and family harmony. Wooden or brown/green clocks work best here. It signifies new beginnings (Sunrise).
- West (Varuna’s Direction): Good for gains and stability. If North or East is not available, West is the best alternative. Round metal clocks are perfect here.
⚠️ Directions to Strictly Avoid
South (Yama’s Direction): South is the direction of stagnation and death in terms of time flow. A clock on the South wall can cause delays in work, lethargy, and health issues for the female head of the house.
Above a Door: Never hang a clock above a door frame. Walking under ‘time’ generates subconscious stress and bad luck.
Pendulum Clocks in Vastu
Pendulum clocks create a rhythmic sound and oscillation. According to Vastu, they are excellent for generating positive Chi (Energy) if placed in the East or North zones of the living room. However, they should generally be avoided in bedrooms as the ticking can disturb sleep rhythms.
Common Clock Vastu Questions
Absolutely NOT. A stopped or broken clock represents “stagnant time”. It creates blocks in your progress and should be repaired or discarded immediately.
It is generally not recommended to have a clock directly facing the main entrance, as it signifies time “running out” of the house. It’s better to place it on a side wall.
Round or Oval shapes are best as they represent continuity and the element of Ether/Space. Square clocks are also good (Stability). Avoid triangular or irregular jagged shapes.
Yes, but ensure it is placed on the East or North wall. Avoid placing it such that you see it reflected in a mirror from the bed. Also, ensure it is a silent sweep clock to avoid sleep disturbance.
If unavoidable, do not hang the clock directly on the South wall. Instead, try to place it on a side table or shelf. If hanging is the only option, use a wooden clock to minimize the negative Earth/Fire conflict.
